Faded and
forgotten 2011.12.31
water color on paper
When
everyone was counting down the New Year, an elderly inmate wrapped himself in
his blanket, sat up and was breathing heavily. The 80-year-old was suffering
from a disease and none of his family ever paid him a visit.
He has been
enduring many cold New Year eves in the prison. No matter how hard I tried to
impart a bit of colour in the drawing of him, I could never colour his faded
life, and he has been long forgotten by the world.
