There are always a few colleagues standing by to deal with the demanding mundane business and contingencies in the prison. Different officers think differently. Some feel secured with the sight of more people in the Dispatch Center which represents sufficient police force; others would be annoyed for the same sight which indicates redundant men power to them. Under the current overcrowding circumstances, standing by is a tough task. One has to take people all day long. Legs get sore easily. Not long before one sits down to catch his breath, he is called again to handle a new assignment. We don’t want to work like a dog and be chewed out at the same time. Therefore, it has been customary whenever we spot an officer coming our way, everyone vanishes like a zombie seeing and hearing an exorcist’s spell!
