Eight Juvenile Generals of God   2012.02.05 Fountain Pen Drawing I’d estimate that the only time young offenders are quiet is when they are asleep. Even during roll call problems arise. After all, the youth and curiosity in them means that they like to rebel, challenge the rules and push the boundaries. Usually, it is very hard to discipline them. In our line of work we have a saying, “If their parents could have discipline them, they wouldn’t have ended up in here. They wouldn’t listen to their parents, let alone listen to you.” Once my colleague A-chin sighed, “There’s this kid who is very naughty and keeps making troubles. I asked him if his parents felt sad for him. He replied that he did not have parents.” Ah, it’s so sad.

收容少年會安靜下來的時間大概只有睡覺時間吧！就連點名可也一直在玩，畢竟血氣方剛，加上好奇、愛挑戰規則、觸犯底線，往往很難用「管」的，在我們這行有句話「爸媽管得動的就不會進來關了，連爸媽的話都不聽的哪還聽你的咧！」一回同事阿欽下勤務時唉聲嘆氣，問他發生了什麼事，他說：「有個小鬼有夠皮的，一直惹事，我問他：『你做這些有沒有想過爸爸媽媽會為你傷心嗎？』他卻回答『我又沒爸爸媽媽！』唉～可憐啊⋯⋯」
