Dialogue Window   2013.02.09 Fountain Pen Drawing

Vigilance and protection of inmates is the first line we learn when we complete our training as prison guards, and the principle of “be friendly and offer life advice, and be strict with your management discipline”, but how do we reconcile this with the management’s demands? Often if we are seen communicating with inmates, the governor will tell us, “don’t chat when on duty” and “don’t get too close to the prisoners”. It seems that the management lack a basic level of trust. How can they become aware of any issues inmates may have? It seems that the prison guards and the prison governors need a dialogue window to communicate as well.
